Population structure is an important index of population age and sex distribution, which has great impact on changes of population and social developments[1].Population and economic development has a close relationship. Since the 1960 s, Japan’s rapid economic rise has made it a leader in east Asia, which is a myth of "east Asian miracle". One of the factors of this "east Asian miracle" is that the improvement of population age structure has caused the decline of the dependency ratio of population[2].In Shandong province, the population problem has been an annoying trouble for a long time. In this article, Shandong province’s population and economic data of1990-2013 are analysed by introducing demographic variables. Through SPSS software,a regression analysis method is used to analyse quantitatively the economic impact of demographic changes of Shandong province. The research results show that the big population base, population aging problems, and unbalanced regional development have brought a lot of troubles to the region’s economic developmen. So only a correct understanding of the relationship of population structure and economic development and a full understanding the characteristics and trends of the population structure change of this province, can we solve those problems of its negative impact on the economy[3].
