South Korea’s vocational education occupies an important place in the national education,vocational high school is an indispensable element in vocational education.It is known that most of the vocational high schools have Chinese lessons. As a positive result, it prepared the vocational skills for the social skills of Korean students.While according to the investigations and studies, there are some problems exist in the Chinese teaching in vocational high schools as following:First, students learn without very specific motivation. The aim of setting Chinese course in vocational high schools is to improve student’s comprehension,and advantages for students who are looking for a job after graduation. After the investigation the author found that entertainment is more like the subject of learning Chinese. which is goes to the contrary of the school teaching goal.Second, the teaching methods are single. the traditional translation method is mostly used in the Chinese teaching of vocational high schools,which lead to a depressing atmosphere in the classroom, and the students are listless.Third, the Chinese teachers are not enough, the teaching level of Korean Chinese is relatively low. And the quantity of Chinese teachers from China is not enough to meet the needs of the school.Fourth, there is a lack of pertinence in the teaching material. Vocational high school have its own particularity, while the Chinese textbook are the as same as the other high schools, which violates the principle of the choice of Chinese teaching material.which it is not conducive to the Chinese teaching.In order to improve the efficiency of Chinese teaching in vocational high schools,firstly, we should start from the students’ learning motivation and improving their interest of Chinese leaning,to stimulate students’ learning motivation; Secondly,we need to take a variety of teaching methods so that we can create a pleasant learning atmosphere; Thirdly, we need to improve the quality of Chinese teacher, To encourage and organize them taking part in the training of Chinese, beside that,we also should recommend more Chinese teachers to South Korea. Last but not least,the selection of teaching materials should based on the characteristics of the students in vocational high schools, and choose more targeted Chinese textbooks.
