Teachers’ classroom instructional directives are one of the important parts in teacher talk, and it is also a significant means of imparting knowledge. Teachers’ effective instructional directives can help students complete tasks better and enhance the classroom efficiency, also it is one of the best tools to obtain language input.English teacher talk has achieved yielded fruitful results, but the researches of teachers’ instructional directives are few in number. Among the researches of teachers’ instructional directives, most of the objects are junior school students, and seldom are senior high school students.This research is aimed at exploring teachers’ directives of Manasi first secondary school and putting forward the following questions:1.What is the common sentence structure of teachers’ instructional directives in Mansi first secondary school?2.What is the common language function of teachers’ instructional directives in Manasi first secondary school ?3.What are the problems exist in the the use of instructional directives in Manasi first secondary school?In this research, Manasi first secondary school is selected as a case. The data comes from the recording of 5teachers and their students, also there are 30 interviews.At last, I collect the data and analysis them.The results of the study are listed as follows: firstly, two kinds of sentence structure are commonly used---imperative sentences, declarative sentence. In English teaching, the number of direct instruction is larger than indirect language instruction.Secondly, there are three types of the teacher’s instruction language features:command, suggestions and requests, and among them, command of the language is of the largest number, then suggestions and requests.3.Some problems exist, for example,the types of instructional directions are single,the sentences are too long, the use of directions is not standard.At last, according to the analysis and discussion of research results, some problems exist in the use of teachers’ instruction directives and solutions are given as advice to enhance the classroom efficiency...
