With the rapid development of science technology and the implementation of the new physics curriculum in 2005, physical frontiers of knowledge were put into the middle school physics textbook. It filled the gap of physical frontiers of knowledge in the middle school physics textbook, and it also caught the attention from the teachers and the educational researchers. However, many disadvantages, for example, the lack of the clear definition about the physical frontiers of knowledge, make it hard to get satisfying results from the current teaching. This paper focuses on middle school physics textbook PEP, summing up and heckling the relevant high school physical frontiers of knowledge: clear its concepts, characteristics, and teaching functions. Due to the limited resources and students learning deficiencies, etc, the writer proposes a teaching design of high school physical frontiers of knowledge and elaborates the teaching methods in detail. These are based on the combination of pedagogy and psychology theory. This paper picks out the physical frontiers of knowledge in high school physics--the "black hole" and "global positioning system". The writer combines the two items with the teaching theory to write the teaching design and analyse the teaching results objectively.During half of year’ s teaching period, the writer collected experimental data by questionnaire. After detailed analysis about the experimental results, it has been proved that carrying out the teaching of the physical frontiers of knowledge will benefit the development of the students’ learning interest and the comprehensive ability. The last part of this paper gives some reasons of the difficulties in carrying out the teaching of physical frontiers of knowledge in high school and the reflection of it, hoping to help the teachers and scholars in this field to some extent.
