Chinese etiquette represents the unique spiritual and civilized identity of Chinese people,contains the highest and farthest pursuit of Chinese nation. This paper around the significance and route of etiquette education to improve college students’ humanistic quality, mainly elaborate from four parts. The first part based on the concept of etiquette education and humanistic quality, analyze the relationship between etiquette education and humanistic quality, elaborate the humanistic connotation of etiquette, and analyze the linkage between the two. The second part based on the questionnaires, and find out college students’ real cases to show college students’ current situation of etiquette behavior and humanistic quality. Then, explore the reasons of their problems. The third part demonstrates the significance of etiquette education to improve college students’ humanistic quality. The fourth part explore effective route of improving contemporary college students’ humanistic quality from the view of etiquette education.People had knowledge does not necessarily mean they have humanistic quality; they received education does not necessarily mean they have humanistic spirit. Humanity is the habitual behavior and life spirit of realizing the true value of life care, after learned literature, history, philosophy and other humanities. Etiquette behavior is necessary to show the spirit of humanities. The etiquette education is the foundation of the humanities, is an indispensable booster comprehensively enhance the comprehensive quality of college students. Using etiquette education to promote the lifting of college students’ humanistic quality is the important route to make socialism core values have real effect on college students’ outlook on value and life.Chinese etiquette and culture emphasizes that we must be gentle, modest, and courteous. And we should have kindness, courage, wisdom, politeness and faith. It also advocate self-discipline, respect for others, care for life, harmonious coexistence. But some of us in some habits still be vulgar, indecent, disorder and have other uncivilized behavior. When some Chinese people travel or exchange overseas, they take these bad habits out, damage our Chinese ancient civilization image. On the one hand this phenomenon shows that our people have many problems like lack of morality, courtesy and humanity, these can not be solved at one kick. One the other hand, it shows that the primary ideological and political education was too idealize, ignoring etiquette education. Therefore, further strengthening etiquette education to improve the humanistic quality is time to be urgent. If a person without humanistic quality, would be an incomplete person; if a society without humanistic spirit, would became an unhealthy society. Etiquette education is one part of humanistic quality. Improving humanistic quality can not without the education of etiquette. The etiquette education and humanistic quality have been related logically and inseparably. Research on humanity is to care about the world.” Twenty-first century is the globalization era, people only have science knowledge can not be able to fulfill the demanding of Times’ development. We should integrate science knowledge with humanistic quality to make our society and human being more advanced. Etiquette education has the significance of theory, practice and culture and also affects other fields.Etiquette education take specific polite behavior as teaching content, use life care and interpersonal harmony as teaching goal. The edification of etiquette with many aspects like philosophy, mind, emotion, ideal state and so on. Persisting in the etiquette education with humanistic, generous, joyful and beautiful, will further make college students educated, kind and beautiful. They will have elegant temperament, loyalty, responsibility, morality and capable ability.The etiquette education of contemporary college students not only should to persevere in Chinese etiquette, but also should make the combination of Chinese tradition and innovation.
