| This article focuses on the teaching situation of the General Education Course with Nanjing University as a reference.It will enrich the research of the practice field of the General Education There is a certain significance for the promotion of the General Education Curriculum Reform, and the promotion of the quality of practice in the General Education Course.This article obtains the teaching situation of the General Education Course, the problems in the teaching practices of the General Education Course and the suggestions to improve the teaching situation of the General Education Course. The study uses literature, questionnaires, interview. Firstly, the study gives the literature review of the General Education and the General Education Course, and then select the research topics. Secondly, the study conducts a detailed research of 30 teachers that engaged in the teaching practices of General Education Course and use the Excel 2007 data analysis software and SPSS16.0 for teachers’ survey data collation. The research gather information from five aspects include teachers’ basic information, teacher resources, the amount of teaching work, teachers’ teaching strategies, teachers’ satisfaction. And in the same time, the study also conducts a in-depth interviews of 18 undergraduate students participate in General Education Course.The study gather information from four aspects include the amount of teaching work, Teachers’ teaching strategies. Teachers’ satisfaction and By analyzing the teaching situation of the General Education Course, the problems and the suggestions in the teaching practices of the General Education Course. The study finds that there are following questions during the teaching practices. For the teacher resources and the amount of teaching work, Firstly, some teachers are short in teaching experience.Secondly, there are deficiencies on the resource allocation of teachers and the teachers bear greater teaching load compared to traditional teaching practices.For the teachers’ teaching strategies, Firstly, some teachers use slightly single teaching methods. Secondly, teaching content is relatively simple, old, lack of new ideas in some teachers’ teaching practices. Thirdly, some classes are lack of teacher-student interaction. Fourthly, the supervision of students is lax and the learning requirements of students is relatively low. For the class size, the class size is too large.For the problems identified, this article corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the improvement of General Education Course teaching situation. Firstly, Schools should be reasonable with the teacher resources of General Education Course, and actively strive for more campus, off-campus teacher resources. Secondly, teachers should use rich, innovative, flexible teaching methods in the process of teaching.Thirdly teachers should reasonably choose and arrange the teaching content. Fourthly, teachers should give more supervision and management, improve students’assessment standards, and to improve the learning requirements of students. Fifthly, we should control the class size and reasonably control the number of student choose to study General Education Course. |
