| Books are the crystallization of human wisdom. Reading can enrich a person’s limited life, cultivate the spirit of a people temperament and forge a national cultural foundation. In today, with the rapid economic development of China and in the new situation of the construction of new country and learning society, more than ever we need to promote the nationwide reading. According to the 11th National People’s reading survey shows that China’s current reading situation has turned for the better, but compared with international levels, it still has a lot of places to be improved. Changing the reading status should first begin with the children. School is the main position for students to read. As a scholar said:the aim of school education should be to create lifelong readers. Due to the psychological development of schoolchildren are not mature enough, making it hard for them to insist in reading for a long time, which requires teachers continually mobilize the enthusiasm of their reading. Carrying out shared reading activities, not only stimulate children’s interest in reading, let the children enjoy and loving it, but also improve their reading ability through activities.The purpose of this paper is designed to study the current status of shared-book reading activities and then we found deficiencies in four areas in its process through specific methods such as interviews with teachers and classroom observations:biased awareness of shared-book reading; lack of diverse material selection; problems in the shared reading activities; imperfection in management and evaluation of shared-book reading activities. Studies put forward some feasible proposals in order to resolve some problems in the process of share-book reading activities carried out from several different levels such as schools, teachers, parents and society. Through the above study, we find that the implementation of shared book reading in the elementary school are still in the exploratory stage and there are still many problems need to be solved in this field. The ideas about share reading still needs more practice in order to motivate the civil reading. |
