In order to offer people perfect education, all the countries think highly of education reform in today’s world. And the key of education reform is to change the teachers’ teaching belief. So it’s necessary to survey the teachers’teaching belief carefully. And it turns out that there are only a few papers about teachers’teaching belief. So, this paper aims to do research on the teaching belief and behaviors of English teachers in a High Middle School.The subjects of the present study include four English teachers and 160 students of Grade one in Fujian Province Fuzhou Chinese Overseas Middle School. This thesis adopted questionnaire method, literature review and observation. The study found that:(1) Half of the teachers thought that Audio-lingual method was a small fraction in their teaching. However, the students thought that teaching method was mainly it; (2) All the teachers thought that Communicative approach played a major role in their teaching. But only a few students agree with this opinion; (3) All the teachers assumed that their teaching’s center is totally students and partly the teachers. However, the students figured that the teaching’s center is mostly students. The above shows that the teaching belief of high Middle School English teachers is not in common with their teaching behaviors actually. Then we analyzed the causes and proposed some suggestions to overcome their shortcomings in their teaching, so as to help them improve the quality of their English education.
