Since ancient times, gratitude is the basic categories of human social morality, and it is the most basic and most enduring content of human civilization, also it has been the most sincere moral emotion and interpersonal moral standards for the Chinese nation. Thanksgiving education is a required course for the growth of human life, and it has occupied a very important position in the traditional moral education in our country. Thanksgiving education have a long history, in traditional Chinese culture, have "vote for me to peach, return with plums ", "A man who has received a drop of kindness, it is necessary to use a lot of spring water in return ",and some other traditional virtues of the kindness, gratitude. However, with the rapid development of market economy, all kinds of thoughts and culture clash, some people ignored the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation’s gratitude, appear selfish, emotional indifference, ingratitude and other moral decline phenomenon. In the reality of the situation, strengthen the importance and necessity of the Thanksgiving education is increasingly prominent. Some schools opened a special Thanksgiving education courses, set up Thanksgiving education base, opened the network classroom, etc., to form the gratitude education network. Study of gratitude education from different angles and detailed introduction to the value of modern moral education, Thanksgiving education is not only the inevitable demand for school moral education work smoothly, also is talent of education to develop morally, intellectually and physically, but also promote the whole society the important premise of moral quality, to clarify the different views of gratitude education, to enhance the effectiveness of school moral education, building a harmonious society and realize China’s dream have important theoretical and practical significance.However, in the process of the modernization of moral education, raises many moral dilemmas by modernity. Thanksgiving education as an important part of moral education, also met the same predicament, concrete manifestation in this four aspects: (One) On the Thanksgiving education goals:utilitarian tendency, lacking normality; (Two) On the content of the Thanksgiving education:rigidly adhere to the form, the lack of effectiveness; (Three) On the form and effectiveness of gratitude education: Goals are not clear, lack of systemic; (Four) On Thanksgiving education sustainability:Content is not specific, lack of practical, which to a certain extent, hinder the development of good moral environment, the formation of the correct moral values, to standardize the behavior of moral cultivation and the construction of modern Thanksgiving education and moral education system. In view of this, in this paper, it has made a deep analysis and research to objectively analyze the defects of existing problems about the status quo of the current lack of gratitude education, and analyzes its main reasons, efforts to explore the value of modern moral education of gratitude education, thus realizes the gratitude education and continues the path of modern moral education value. This paper will be divided into four parts:The first part:the introduction part, and mainly discusses the selected topic background, the purpose of Thanksgiving education and the important theoretical and realistic significance, summarized this paper expounds the current research status quo of gratitude education both at home and abroad, illustrates the research method and innovation of this article.The second part:define related concepts about the gratitude and Thanksgiving education, elaborates the historical origins of thanksgiving education, which mainly discusses Chinese ancient and modern advocates the Thanksgiving education. And discusses the two aspects of interpretation of Chinese modern Thanksgiving education from the transformation the deconstruction of traditional Gratitude consciousness and modern Thanksgiving consciousness in. And discuss the relevance of Western Gratitude Education theory. Based on the above research compares the Chinese and foreign Thanksgiving education at last.The third part:first, makes a critical analysis of thanksgiving education about Thanksgiving education existing historical inevitability and limitations. And from two aspects of the current gratitude education existence question and reason analysis to propose the contemporary situation of gratitude education.And based on this, discusses the four aspects of the value of modern moral education,it embodied in promoting moral development, the construction of a harmonious society, to carry forward Chinese excellent moral tradition and the socialist morality construction.The fourth part:based on the analysis of the above three parts, mainly through the theoretical construction, family education, school education, social spread these four aspects to explore the gratitude education and modern value of moral education to undertake the implementation of the path.
