With the popularization and implementation of quality education,people pay more attention to students’ physical and mental development, so as to promote their all-round development. This requires the formation of equality, active classroom atmosphere. While the current junior high school geography classroom atmosphere are not harmonious, active, equality. When teacher ready to free to ask teacher or provide a group discussions, there appears in perfect silence in the classroom, which is malignant vital classroom silence. Malignant silence in Geography classroom refers to nonverbal behavior of students which hold one’s tongue, utter not a single word, don’t exchange. in the classroom. Such silence phenomena appear in Geography classroom, on the one hand, will not conducive to the teacher lectures; on the other hand, this is not conducive to the students in classroom interaction. A serious silence phenomenon is even is not conducive to the relationship between teachers and students, so does teaching effect. From the communication perspective, this constant feedback and adjustment process in classroom is in accordance with the principle of communication. it is a basic educational communication process. The Spiral of Silence theory in the communication science based on people seek a feel of psychological don’t be alone, which there are certain research and exploration value in junior high school geography classroom silence. Analysis and study of the present situation and the causes of junior high school geography classroom silence by the Spiral of Silence theory, to grasp the core content from the spread of the essence which influence classroom silence. When we use the Spiral of Silence theory to study the status quo and the causes of junior high school geography classroom silence can promote good geography classroom interaction, at the same time, it provide good advices for teacher treat bad class phenomenon and in favor of students improve classroom self-monitoring ability and classroom participation. It also can inhibit the homogeneity classroom information.By produce “A Questionnaire about Middle School Geography Classroom Silence” and “A Questionnaire about The Influence Factors of Classroom Silence in Middle School Students”. To further understand the current situation and influence factors of junior high school geography classroom. Then we use the Spiral of Silence theory to put forward the corresponding countermeasures on geography classroom silence. We used the research methods of questionnaire, classroom observation, teacher talk, literature analysis. Through a questionnaire survey, this was conducted among 300 middle school students Pingdingshan City of Henan. Use the conclusions from data analysis to do a strategy guide about junior high school geography classroom silence phenomenon. Then we draw the following conclusions:There exists the classroom silence phenomenon of junior high school geography, the proportion that cannot be ignored. The geography classroom call to ask questions is a large proportion, a voluntary statement rely on interest. Effects of geography classroom silence as follows, such as the teacher factor, environment factor, student factor, cultural factor, behavior and personality factors, and so on. Through the analysis of the status and reasons of geography classroom silence in junior high school, based on people seek psychological don’t be alone in the Spiral Of Silence, use the theory of communication study to analysis and change of geography classroom silence is very feasible. Through the analysis of the status and reasons of geography classroom silence in junior high school, use communication of the Spiral of Silence theory. Combined with the instance in the empirical study, we proposed corresponding methods to break the silence of the geography classroom. To study and improve Geographic classroom silence has good effect, with the feasibility of using the Spiral of Silence Theory.Innovation of this paper: The first, we put forward the methods that use the Spiral of Silence theory of communication to break of geography classroom silence; second, we use qualitative and quantitative analysis to analyses the status quo and the causes of silence in geography classroom.
