Inquiry teaching focuses on students’ acquisition and application of knowledge,and their ability to solve problems in their inquiry learning.It aims to foster their comprehensive ability,especially the ability to innovate.Inquiry teaching is inevitably needed,for in 21 st century,it can help us effectively cultivate talents,move forward new curriculum reform and finally reach the goal of students’ moral education that is required by ideology and politics class in high school.It is also of great significance as to the improvement and effectiveness of teaching in high school.However,when we come to the textbook Economic Life of senior one,we can easily find some problems with the application of the inquiry learning.To better solve all these problems,we need to find out new effective teaching methods to promote inquiry learning.This paper is based on the new curriculum reform of high-school’s ideology and political education.By referring to extensive documents and literatures from both China and abroad,and conducting a literature review of them,this paper tends to provide a full picture of the development of inquiry teaching,including the related research approaches to it and its main ideas.The paper has also carried out a detailed comparison between the Western countries’ inquiry teaching and that of the East.A summary of them has also been conducted.All these have provided valuable and abundant references and thus help me to come up with the structure of the paper.Various problems are found in inquiry teaching due to the results of questionnaire surveys launched among the students and teachers and my personal experiences and thoughts in the teaching of Economic Life.These problems are specifically targeted,analyzed and probed.Based on the reasons having been found for these problems,the paper puts forward three concrete approaches so as to improve the inquiry teaching of Economic Life.Questionnaire and case study method are employed in the paper so as to deliver valuable and effective methods to improve inquiry teaching in the senior one’s Economic Life.In this way, we can increase the effectiveness in the teaching and enhance students’ sense of participation and their ability to innovate.Therefore,we can cultivate more and more.innovation-driven students for our country’s socialist modernization.
