The classic poetry teaching of high school is of extremely important significance to develop students’ aesthetic temperament and interest, to improve students’ quality and accomplishment, to carry forward excellent traditional culture and so on. However, nowadays the high school students in ethnic minority areas are not very interested in classic poetry and the teaching effect is not ideal. And the whole classic poetry teaching is in a dilemma. This paper focuses on researching the classic poetry teaching of high school in ethnic minority areas, intents to discover some problems of it and finds some proper solutions to those problems. In this way is it conducive to contribute to the classic poetry teaching of high school in ethnic minority areas.It is surveyed that the main reasons of difficulty of development of the classic poetry teaching of high school in ethnic minority areas and bad teaching effect are the impact of minority culture and dialect, lack of emotional experience, bad reading comprehension and forth. Of course, the teachers in ethnic minority areas have many defects. In order to improve the current teaching situation, this paper will find the means of helping high school students in ethnic minority areas to cultivate the interest of classic poetry and enhancing the ability of analyzing classic poetry, by concrete teaching example. And this paper will present some concrete strategy from three main aspects-----changing teaching order(context), probing into students’ learning method and teachers’ self improvement.
