X Middle School lies in tourist area whose tourism industry is in fullswing, but the teaching spirit trends to decline day by day. Teachers rarely improvetheir personal quality. Learning knowledge is not that emphasized with the basicprinciple that the students are safe at school. Teachers are generally lackingideological and moral education. The teaching spirit is affected by teacher’s personalquality, performance evaluation and incentive management. Teacher’s ideologicaland professional qualities are not high, so that individual quality is low;The singularity of evaluation subject and the rigidness of evaluation criterion whichignores the evaluation result both lead to the inability of making reasonableassessment on teachers; The lack of leaders’ incentive measures and the weakness ofunit cohesion are the causes that teaching spirit declines.The paper views X middle school as a special case. Based on the questionnairesand interviews on teachers and students, it describes the specific school events, andmakes the corresponding empirical research and argument.According to the result of the experiment, it can be analyzed through the datathat personal quality, performance evaluation and incentive management haveremarkable correlation. In order to change the teaching spirit, comprehensivemanagement measures should be adopted and teaching spirit construction enhanced.What is needed to improve the quality of teachers are to strengthen ethics cultivation,strengthen teachers’ skills training and enhance teachers’ identity. Through thediversification of performance evaluation, standard, flexible and effective use of theevaluation results, performance evaluation will be effectively perfected. By leadingmodel, informal groups influencing, using rewards and punishments for scientificincentive management, the problems in teaching spirit construction will be solved.So when teaching spirit is being constructed systematically, cooperated with schoolmanager and teachers, excellent teaching spirit will be formed.The paper consists of four main parts: the first part states the researchbackground and necessity. The second part describes the situation of teaching spiritin X Middle School, and, according to the problems in the situation, a separatedcategory analysis is made. The third part is the differential analysis and correlationanalysis in order to find the essential problems. The fourth part proposes solutions tothe issues of case.
