Research On The Identity Of National Spirit Of College Students

Jiang Zemin’s Report at16th Party Congress points out that, for more than5,000years, the Chinese nation has evolved a great national spirit centering on patriotism and featuring unity and solidarity, love of peace, industry, courage and ceaseless self-improvement. National spirit is the moral kingpin on which a nation relies for survival and development. College students, the hope and future of the motherland and shoulders a better future for the important task of the construction of the motherland. The effect of strengthening the identity of national spirit of college students ranges from an individual to a nation.Based on the connotation of national spirit and identity theory, the identity of national spirit of college students can be divided into3aspects mainly:national identity, cultural identity and value identity. This paper conducted a questionnaire survey on the identity of national spirit of college students, selected national identity, cultural identity and value identity as the3dimensions of the survey, and evaluated on cognition, emotion, evaluation and behavior. The results of evaluation showed that most college students have a strong national spirit. But because of the negative effects brought by multi-culture, various social contradictions, the education thought of utilitarianism, part of college students’ national identity, cultural identity and value identity were weakened to some extent. For example, their conception of national defense and consciousness of national security are fairly indifferent, and their traditional culture foundation is inadequate profound and values deviation. According to the analysis of problems and causes, this paper points out4measures to promote the identity of national spirit of college students. Firstly, the optimization of education target and content. Secondly, innovation vector of national spirit education.
