Under the situation of current new economy, the private higher education is an important part of vocational education in our country, if we will develop vocational education vigorously. How to develop the private higher education in the future, which is bound to affect the quality of vocational education. The private higher education has many problems with the rapid development in recent years. It is necessary to study the current private higher education. On the basis of predecessors’ research, the paper made a relatively systematic investigation, analysis, comparison, research on current situation and relevant factors of sports teaching of private colleges and universities in Ji’nan city and compared with previous research results, with the method of carrying on the questionnaire survey to students of various non-governmental university, and combining with the method of documentation, expert interview method, mathematical statistics, comparison and logic analysis etc. Which is to find out development situation, problems and reasons, to put forward the improvement measures.Through the investigation, the conclusions following as:1, The level of private colleges education is diversified. The form cover recruitment pilot, recruitment, undergraduate course specialized subject, undergraduate, specialist pilot, construct five years junior and senior technicians, technicians, vocational classes class (orders), secondary and tertiary even read nine levels. Students’ composition is complicated, the starting point spans bigger. Which bring inconvenience to sports teaching and management of private colleges, it is difficult to guarantee the quality of physical education teaching.2, The national government pay attention to culture, norm and develope private colleges, and to strengthen the supervision in time. The overall teaching quality has assessed in shandong province every three years, and has assessed the sports activities specially. Private colleges developes gradual and steady, but the current situation of development of private colleges in ji’nan city is insufficient at present, The number of sports teachersof some higher vocational college is less, lead to numerous students only in a class.3, Basic management of physical education teaching is perfect, but there are still problems. According to the survey, sports teaching file of various non-governmental university in ji’nan city is complete, the sports teaching material is specification, the sports management rules and regulations is perfect, evaluation system of physical education teaching is scientific. But, there are many adverse execution and low management level of individual colleges in the implementation process of teaching. 4, Sports teacher’s low research level as a whole. The scientific research level of Ji’nan private colleges is still in the low a level relative to the state-run school,17percent of the teachers never published a paper in five years, and44.4percent of the teachers have never participated in any research projects in the past five years. Sports venues and equipment are far away from the standards prescribed by the state.
