With the development of economic integration and economic globalization, the communication between countries is becoming more and more frequent. English as an international language is also becoming more and more important. English has become the iconic language that all countries communicate with each other. English learning is the important position in education in many countries. The students of many countries are also learning English positively, including China. After Reform and Opening up, China has a new face. There is more requirements in learning English. English learning is becoming important in education in China.In the process of English learning and exam, reading occupies the important position, has an effect on English performance. The school is also exploring the problem that how to improve the reading achievement of the students. If the school wants to improve the reading achievement of the students, the school should foster the students’reading ability that needs the teachers to drill reading strategies. The students’ total reading ability is terrible in China, especially the students do not use reading strategies and. skill so that the students’ reading level is poor.The writer use reading strategies theories to train the 102 students from the grade one in Qingdao Zhiyuan Middle School by class test. It aims to find reading strategies training can improve the ability of the students. Then the writer conducts a survey for the students’ attitude towards reading and reading strategies. Lastly, the writer takes partial students to interview; it aims to get more effective information and advice.The experimental results indicate that the students master few reading strategies. The writer worries about this situation very much. The students obtain related knowledge from their teachers by class in the process of reading, so the teacher plays a crucial role in teaching. But the teacher uses not to teach their students reading strategies. Because of all kinds of reasons, the students do not lesson their reading ability by themselves. By this experiment, the writer find that the reading comprehension scores in the control class are much worse than that in the experimental class. The teachers and students both agree that the reading strategy can improve the reading comprehension achievements of the students. Reading strategies are an effective way in English teaching and have an important impact on reading.
