The Study On Singapore’s Civic Moral Education In Colleges

The Singapore government has always paid great attention to the training of high-quality citizens,and the moral education of citizens.Since 1991, the system of Singapore’s civic moral education in schools is becoming more and more perfect.Moral education is very fruitful in universities. Through moral education Singapore cultivates talents of both ability and moral integrity, providing a source of strength and an important guarantee for the economic development and social progress.China and Singapore have all kinds of connections in many aspects.In history,China and Singapore have a profound origin that can not be separated; in the region,Singapore and China are friendly neighbors of Asian circle; in the culture, the two countries have common Confucian culture origin, both have attached great importance to the extraction of the essence from traditional culture. In addition, in recent years our country gives increasing importance to civic moral education.Therefore,it is of great significance to solve practical problems existing in moral education in Chinese colleges and universities by learning from the experience of successful moral education in Singapore.This thesis studies civic moral education in Singapore colleges comprehensively and systematically through the methods of literature analysis and comparison research,and puts forward relative inspirations by combining with the present situation of moral education in Chinese colleges. The main contents are as following: first, sums up the development process of civic moral education in Singapore universities that are the initial stage, the preliminary development phase,innovation stage and perfect stage.The thesis comprehensively and systematically expounds the historical evolution process. Second,establishes the goal and content of college civil moral education in Singapore.The basic goal is “qualified citizens" and the highest goal is "elite",and establishes the specific content of education according to the different stages of education goal.They are Confucian ethics education, citizen moral character education,national citizen consciousness education, international awareness education and moral practice ability education. In the process of achieving the goal of education, adopts the theory inculcation method,modelmethod,actual practicing method,serious ethics development method and the value clarification method etc. Third,based on an objective analysis of the problems existing in current civic moral education in Chinese universities, learns from the successful experience of moral education in Singapore universities, gets some enlightenment in the clear goal of civic moral education,optimization of civic moral education content, improvement of civil moral education methods and broadening ways of civic moral education, so as to promote the healthy and smooth development of college civic moral education of in China.
