Latin dance has attracted a growing number of Latin dance lovers, especially the students in ordinary colleges since its entering into China in the 1990 s. There are common phenomenon such as the lack of resources in teaching staff, teaching space and professional materials and the backwards in teaching contents and teaching methods due to a comparatively short period of the development of Latin dance in our country. This paper designs the overall scheme of MCAI courseware of Latin dance and the main program of the courseware script editor and analyses systematically the selection and application of development tools, text, audio, video and other multimedia material collection and processing according to the technological characteristics of Latin dance and application of the Authorware courseware development platform. Besides, the paper creates the five kinds of plate of courseware structures that are rumba, cha-cha, samba, cowboy dance and Paso doble. Finally, it develops the MCAI courseware of Latin basic steps that adapted to various levels of students by the courseware interface beautification, the test and debugs of the courseware and the courseware packaging. The application of the courseware will not only implement the sharing of teaching resources, save the time of Latin dance teaching and make up for the shortcomings of the disconnection between theory and practice in the Latin dance, but also enhance the enthusiasm and initiative of Latin dance training and promote the quality of teaching of Latin dance. This research will provide theoretical references for the reform and innovation of teaching methods of Latin dance.
