With the progress of science and technology, and the development of the period, the children’s childhood and now has been very different, their life is more and more superior, children’s education problem become more and more attentioned, and at prisent the children’s education patterns are mainly depend on school education. As we all know, the quality of education in today’s of children growing up play a very important basic function role, and the arts education in the quality of improving and perfecting aspect has the incomparable role than other disciplines. So in the quality education, how to give full play to the role of the elementary school arts education, it is worth thinking about.DIY is a emerging concept in recent years, its meaning " design, produce by their own" in recent, many DIY art forms are adored by the masses of parents and children, the concept of DIY in the application process more attention to children the all-round development of will, emotion and thinking, and keep a watchful on each children’s individual differences. It is a kind of form in extremely rich artistic to help children establish deep contact with the world, can make children understand the world better. Help them learn to observe and creation, through the way of DIY, help children establish right idea for world and outlook the values. And DIY play a vital role for developing students’intelligence, cultivating students’emotion, excavate students’potential, stimulate students’innovation ability.In this paper, through analysis for the concept, origin and characteristics of DIY, and discussed the feasibility of the DIY into the elementary school fine arts education.For the related art form of expression of DIY contains application to the four learning areas of elementary school fine arts education then for this through concrete analysis. Elaborated for developing students’intelligence the DIY injection for students’emotion cultivating, excavate, stimulate and innovation ability has a positive effect, it advantageous to maximum develop play to the elementary school fine arts education,also an irreplaceable role in quality-oriented education. At the same time, confirm the DIY concept is in line with professor Guo Si le "student-based education" of education, through the DIY can give full play to the dominant position of students in the classroom, and under injection of DIY after the elementary school fine arts education can be done with the quality-oriented education of the education concept of "stressing the cultivation of three dimensional goal", and can make up primary school students now inscience of the traditional arts and crafts of the status quo.So that the spirit of Chinese traditional manual can get the agilit of heritage and development.
