Study On The Value Of The Confucian Integrity Thought On College Ideological And Political Education

Confucian culture is the essence of Chinese traditional culture, and its ideology has influenced China for thousands of years. Integrity thought is one of the pillars of Confucian culture and the precious spiritual wealth of our nation. The reasonable research and utilization of Integrity thought is Conducive to the inheritance and development of the excellent traditional culture, besides, it provides theoretical and spiritual support to the construction of harmonious socialist society for our country. Since the reforming and opening policy, with the further development of the market economy and the invasion of Western ideas, the country pays more and more attention to the ideological and political education in Colleges and Universities. Whether for personal or social development, ideological and political education in Colleges and universities has been playing an important role. Integrity is an important proposition in Confucian thought. Integrity, originally means sincere honesty and truth without absurdness; this ancient philosophy category, evolved from the moral category. In ancient China, integrity had always played an essential role on the shaping of the national culture and characters. It has the truth of the times and is always along with the mankind. In the process of building socialist spiritual civilization, it has particular value of practical significance for emphasizing the construction of people’s spirit world and cultivating noble moral sentiments. The systematical carding and research on the Confucian Integrity thought is good for us to grasp the connotation and essence of Confucian Integrity thought, and also, it provides a theoretical basis and a methodological value for the ideological and political education in Colleges and Universities.This paper systematically expounds the Confucian Integrity thought, studies the theoretical construction and connotation and also sums up the problems of dishonesty in ideological and political education in Colleges and Universities.
