Rural education occupies a considerable proportion in the education system of our country, and rural senior high school is not only the base where professionals at different levels are cultivated, but also the key links on which basic quality is built for the majority of workers. Rural high school students are in their important transition period both physically and mentally from childish to mature, during which period their ideal and faith will change rapidly, and their values, views on life as well as views on the world will grow from uncertainty to maturity. Therefore, in face of the many problems emerged in this period, teachers should help and guide them in time. For one thing, teachers should create positive self-learning environment for students, inspire their interest in learning, and arouse their enthusiasm and initiative for long-term learning in the teaching process. For another, teachers also should help students to develop in an all-round way, foster their innovation consciousness and ability, encourage independent thinking, and improve their adaptability in education activities.Language is one of the basic skills that people have to master, as the most important tool of communication, it is an essential part of human culture. Chinese course is committed to the formation and development of students’ Chinese knowledge. Furthermore, a good accomplishment on Chinese is the foundation for students to learn other subjects, and the basis of comprehensive development. Hence, unity of instrumentality and humanity becomes the fundamental feature of Chinese course. Chinese education enables students to develop better ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing. It is the education not only for knowledge, but also for humanity, which contains the inheritance and development of human civilization. It helps people set up the correct attitude towards life, cultivate healthy state of mind, form a delightful personality, and maintain full enthusiasm and cheerful mood. Moreover, this kind of education is an important way to promote the appropriate cognitive structure, emotional attitude and learning interest. Applying positive psychological factors to Chinese teaching has been proved an effective way to improve the teaching effectiveness. In this way, teachers can create a favorable environment for teaching, stimulate students’ interest in learning, cultivate good learning habit, and shape a healthy personality. Therefore, applying positive psychological factors to Chinese course is an irreplaceable way to improve teaching effectiveness.In this paper, I will firstly discuss the necessity and importance of applying positive psychological factors to the Chinese course with the aim of improving teaching effectiveness by analyzing the characteristics of the Chinese subject, and combining with the implementation of the positive psychological quality education. Then, I will explore the education contents of applying positive psychological factors to the Chinese teaching. Finally, I will seek for effective methods to implement positive psychological factors in order to improve teaching effectiveness of Chinese course.
