A Study Of Tsinghua University Students’ Physical Health Education Actuality

This paper is based on the question that mentioned at18th Party Congress, namely,school PE and students’ health is the goal of the implementation of reinvigorating Chinathrough human resource development, human resources power in2020and also is the mostaustere requirement to the PE universities. A survey was conducted to the physical healtheducation of Tsinghua University by literature, questionnaire, interview, mathematicalstatistics and introduction. It is aimed to promote the implementation of the guiding ideologyof "health first" at universities, strengthen school sports, improve physical health educationsystem in our colleges and universities, and to improve the physical health of college students.Tsinghua University is a traditional PE university, PE at Tsinghua University has gotconsistent growth and has distinct characteristics; the following results were obtained byinvestigation.First, Tsinghua University’s physical health education is based on scientific philosophyof education and a good foundation for the development of sports. Tsinghua University’smotto:"to fight for working healthily for50years for the motherland" is the goal of thestudents. It laid a solid ideological foundation for the physical health education of the students;for the leaders and the teachers paid much attention to sports, as well as plenty of sportsvenues and facilities provided the necessary teacher and material guarantee for physical healtheducation.Second, the Physical Education curriculums provided by Physical Health educationcenter of Tsinghua University are rich and unique."The First PE class" arouses theenthusiasm of students to participate in sports;" The4+2+2" PE teaching system, adoptinghierarchical teaching methods,it has characteristic and reference value; the establishment ofphysical therapy courses met the rights of students to participate in sports.Third, the sports activities of the physical health education at Tsinghua University arecompulsory and rich. The "Sunshine Running" activities and "Compulsory exercise program"are compulsory. The school has a variety of sports associations, and the "McMahon Cup"sports competitions are held throughout the year, which greatly enriched the students’ sportslife.Fourth,The Assessment and evaluation system of Tsinghua physical health education ismore complete, but the feedback of physical testing is still need to be improved. It ischaracterized by large number of participants, strict management, high student consciousness,and real data，have some feedbacks, and so on.
