Since the advent of new curriculum reform, an alienation tendency that historyteaching in the middle schools is becoming simple, localized, documental and academichas occurred. The paper, in terms of cultivation of a critical thinking about history, hasbeen prepared to find solutions to construct an academic teaching environment in thehistory classrooms for middle school students based on the history characteristics, theconnotations of ear in the course of history while focused on the values, contents andapproaches to teaching history.A history classroom full of academic environment in the middle schools is a newmodel where the teaching starts from humanism and constructivism, supported by thesubject features and teaching trends. This new kind of teaching features with such basicapproaches as practice, enquiry, reflection and experience, historical documents as the corecontents and value assessing as the connotation. The teaching aims are to help studentslearn historical facts; develop their science literacy and the historical awareness, preparingthem for the21stcentury when a citizen with a scientific attitude and humanities iswelcome. Such teaching features with the development of historical thinking and valueassessing to help students to build a positive attitude to life, nation, history and times. Thisteaching integrates3-D aims, curriculum, and application of history documents and thecombination of teaching and learning into the whole process to help students learn from thepast, live in the present and look forward to the future.It is a good idea to construct a history classroom full of academic environment in themiddle schools to enrich history resources, strengthen the knowledge of the age, make itpossible for the latest research to come down to middle school classroom, thus makingstudents happy to learn while teachers happy to teach.
