With the development of social economy and the rising of people’s living standard, the social demand for art talents has been increasing. Therefore, the scales of art schoolshave been gradually expanding, and art students have become an important part in thecollege entrance examination.According to the new curriculum, high school chemistry course requires art studentsto learn required module1,2and one elective module. The aim of the subject is to furtherimprove students’ scientific accomplishment, on the basis of nine-year compulsoryeducation and make a good foundation for their future development.Art students in high school have to learn the same academic subjects as their peers inordinary high schools, as well as the corresponding art subjects. Consequently, the teachingtime for chemistry is relatively shortened. Besides, art students mostly have weakfoundation in academic study, and their motivation of learning chemistry is not high.Above all, the three dimensions: knowledge and skills, process and methods, emotionalattitude and values which are advocated by the new curriculum are difficult to be carriedout. As for the problem, based on the ideas of new curriculum, constructivism learningtheory, school-based curriculum development and the theory of multiple intelligence, theauthor reorganizes module1,2and Chemistry and Life published by Jiangsu EducationPublishing House. This approach stimulates the art students learning interest andenthusiasm for chemistry. Through teaching practice and results prove the approach hastaken effect.
