We must be clearly aware that, in twenty-first Century, not only our country isfaced with a series of social and economic problems caused by aging population butalso the whole world, especially the western and Asian developed countries whichmust have severe alert on population issue. The aging population is a national evenglobal social and economic problem, which affects the human society’s developmenttrend in the future. Needless to say, we Chinese must stay alert on aging problem forour huge foundation of population. If our country’s economic power has not yet be ableto provide two hundred million aging population with a wealthy living standard, thenthe aging population will become a serious threat to our social harmony and stability.Premier Wen Jiabao said:"Our country need not only the humble doers, but also thewisdom thinker who always look up the starring sky to seek proper ways to save ournation ".Faced with the severe situation and the increasingly serious aging problem, wemust take the overall facing problems of reform and opening up into account, we alsoneed to cherish the hard-earned fruits of economic development. The problem of agingpopulation is not an all dark side, by arming our mind with Marxism, Deng Xiaopingtheory,"Three Represents" important thoughts and Scientific development concept asguidance can we seek the truth in difficulties, we must stay humble to analyze andsolve difficulties, use wisdom to debase the negative impact of aging problem to aminimum level.We must seek the truth from facts to realize that the problem of aging populationcan never be changed by our subjective will, it is a national and the social phenomenonof objective existence, it represents the development of our society has entered a newstage, and it is also the consequence from national development in all kinds of socialconflicts. Dialectical materialism tells us, the material object determines humanconsciousness, it is the same thing to face aging population problem, the objectivereality of the growing aging population determines two of our consciousness, one is positive attitude, the other one is negative. Consciousness can also have effect on thematerial, as long as we use a positive attitude to face it. The aging of population is the inevitable result of social development,it cannot be changed by our subjective will, nor be eliminated due to the developmentof science and technology in the progress of civilization. Faced with the agingpopulation problem, although it can only be relieved not eliminated, we can not choosepassive adaptation, because things are changing and developing. Result is the internaland external causes. The result of aging problem is the internal contradictions of socialdevelopment, it determines the direction of aging problem while the external factor isChina’s policy which acts as soil to breed it. We cannot change the law of population,but we can choose a good the subjective attitude, because it is the only externalconditions that we can control. Reducing its negative effects on transforming processof the contradiction will show good effect on solving problem of aging of population,we must stand on solid ground, and strengthen our fundamental power on the roots.In a certain period of time we should accumulate positive quantities to change theformation of the final result. In other words, we must maximize the advantages ofageing problem and minimize the negative effects on economy and society. Thedevelopment of things is progressive and forward, so in building a harmonious socialistsociety, we must clearly realize the aging problem situation, establish the socialsecurity system and insurance system, improve the pension level as soon as possible,make sure everything is ready for the coming of aging society.
