Private Colleges in China, for it is self-financing and set up by social forces; the operation must be market-oriented and self-financing. Facing growing market demand, as students in Shandong province, private universities have mushroomed and developed, but a real problem at this stage of private universities in Shandong Province is funding shortage, which has become a constraining for private colleges’development bottleneck. So if the private colleges want to develop rapidly and healthily, how to solve the financing problem comes first.This thesis chooses private colleges in Shandong as its objects, for its quantity and representativeness. The thesis is based on the analysis of education cost-sharing theory and education quasi-public goods theory, combined with the specific cases to do the research. Through analysis of various financing methods of private colleges in Shandong, it explores new financing channels to help solve the school funding bottlenecks in the development process.This article follows from theory to practice idea, first analyzes the theoretical backgrounds of the college education financing. Secondly, it explores the development and the problems of private colleges in Shandong Province. Meanwhile, through the questionnaire, it deepens the analysis the problem and causes of financing in private colleges. With the field research of three colleges, it proves the possible problems in the process of financing. Finally, for the financing problems of private colleges, it proposes appropriate countermeasures, and it also provides theoretical advice and support to solve financing problems of private colleges..
