| Tennis is a part of the education for post graduate students of PE major, although started late, it developed fast. Now there is a large amount of post graduate students majoring in the physical education, and the amount and quality of their degree theses are having significantly progresses. Different types of colleges have different requirements for the degree theses of their post graduate students. We compared the research direction and dynamics of tennis in different types of colleges to find their similarities and differences, and then analysed them using some theoretical methods. By doing these, we hope to provide some references for the future education of post graduate students majoring in tennis.Literature method, interview method, content analysis method, logic method, mathematical statistics and other research methods are used in this paper. We analysed the data of tennis education from2005to2012between different types of colleges and universities in our country and then got the following conclusions:In the recent eight years, the characteristics of different types of College Tennis Master degree theses in China are:1.the number of the papers showed an increasing trend, the number of papers in normal universities increased, and that in comprehensive universities is the least;2. The varieties of the study are mainly applied research, with a complementary of basic research, and development research.3. The direction of the research is unbalanced, and mainly focused on the competitive sports and school sports, with little part of social sports. The perspective mainly concentrates on competitive sports, and is occasionally involved in school sports, but they can reflect the research characteristics. Normal universities have less school sports directions, but the directions of social sports have many bright spots and innovation points.4. The research contents have the characteristics of aggregation and dispersion, and the research scope of sports colleges is wide, but the depth is not enough. Although the research content of the comprehensive colleges and normal universities is limited, but the capacity of the authors is relatively stronger, and the research content is profound.5. The research method mainly focused on traditional methods, there also are some new methods, presenting diversification and comprehensive application, but the normalization and preciseness are not enough.6. As for the use of reference literature, firstly, the average number of references of comprehensive colleges is the most, following by sports colleges and normal universities; secondly, the most frequent use of reference types are journals, following by book and academic dissertation; finally, the college students in sports colleges usually read English literature compared with other schools, the students in normal colleges prefer reading Japanese and multiple languages literature, which are better than other colleges.In our country, the existing problems of master’s degree theses in different types of colleges are mainly concentrated on:the quantity of theses is too few, and the basic research is too weak; research topics are too old, lack innovation and are not comprehensive enough. Some theses do repeat research and don’t focus on the newest development of this field. Some research methods are not so standard; reference literature are too few, especially English ones. What’s more, for some students of tennis direction, the topics of their master’s degree theses are inconsistent with their major.According to the existing problems, we propose some suggestion to improve the quality of master’s degree theses. Firstly, in order to improve the quality of these theses, we should ameliorate the research conditions. Secondly, colleges can improve students’quality and urge teachers to do better guidance work. And then, students should read more papers, especially English papers, do more thinking and make their eyesight broader. |
