| In recent years, with the rapid development of our sports industry, sports venues, as the basis for the development of sports, have increased dramatically in number. Governments at all levels pay more attention to the rich reward brought by large sports venues construction. The governments hope that with the help of the construction of large sports venues, larger social benefits as well as faster urban economic development are to be achieved at the same time, contributing to the national fitness career and at last, stimulating the urban development. Although the purposes are good, when the stadium is completed and put into use, it’s power of promoting the city development seems to have failed to meet the expectations. Some scholars argue that the stadiums are not fully used after the match, which would increase the government’s financial burden and therefore, is not beneficial to the development of the city. Others claim that stadiums can improve the urban infrastructure construction, promoting the city image, contributing to the development of the city, etc.Large Stadiums are often built in less developed areas of a developed city. A reason lead to this phenomenon is that city administrators hope that the construction of large sports venues can promote the economic development of the local and surrounding areas, further perfecting the urban functions and finally promote the development of the city. The construction of large sports venues, therefore, play a role similar to the growth pole. Therefore, by using the growth pole theory to analyze the influence of the stadium construction on the urban development helps to clarify the advantages and the disadvantages, helps to put forward corresponding countermeasures and measures. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the appendix, introduced the research background, research significance and literature review, also the research ideas and research methods. The second part is the theoretical basis, which analyzed the stadium’s influence on the development of surrounding areas from a theoretical point of view. The third part is the construction of the evaluation index system, mainly determined the evaluation index and built the model of the stadium construction polarization and diffusion effect after referring to some of the existing regional gap measure and following a certain principles of the index system. The fourth part is the empirical analysis, mainly collected relative data from Nanchang stadium area as well as the surrounding areas, putting it into the evaluation model built before, and used the data to make an empirical analysis and comprehensive evaluation. The fifth part is the analysis of the causes and countermeasures, mainly find out the reasons for the results according to the result of a comprehensive evaluation, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures. The sixth part is the conclusion and prospects of the research, which not only shows the deficiency of this paper but puts forward the further research direction. To summarize, according to the research we can draw the following conclusions: First, the growth pole effect of the stadium construction in Nanchang effect is not apparent. Second, the values of the polarization and diffusion effect index of the stadium construction in Nanchang are greatly influenced by the industrial investment and the real estate investment. Third, the reason why the the growth pole effect of the stadium construction in Nanchang is not apparent is that the stadium is poor at operating, stadium is not formed to be a promote enterprise and there are no promote enterprise around it, the number of the enterprises around the stadium is too small and lack of government policy support. Forth, the common countermeasure of the stadium construction in Nanchang to promote the city development is to improve the operational efficiency of the stadium, promote the formation of promoting enterprise and increase the investment of the real estate development. |
