The former Soviet Union educationalist Suhuomulinshiji once said:“the real educationis the self-education.” An important method of self-education, and a significant trend ofmodern education development is self-management of students. Besides, it’s one of themoral education of students the important work of the reform of educational system and.Emphasizing the over-all development of students is to cultivate their abilities ofself-management. The ultimate goal of every school is helping students learn how to managethemselves. The self-management ability means that: under the guide of class supervisors,students can know about themselves, adjust and manage themselves. Based on theirself-knowledge, they can gain the emotional power of self-awareness through theirexperiences. The self-management of students has great impact on the school management,and it has a positive role on promoting students’ growths. The author tries to use scientificmethods to make clear the state of junior middle school students’ ability of self-management,as well as the function of society, families and schools on the development of students’self-management. It’s the purpose of romoting students’level of self–management.Firstly, the article sorts out the theories and researches of self-management throughconsulting documents. Through sorting out the theoretical system and development process ofmiddle school students’ self-management, we can find out the shortcomings of currentresearches. The author conducted questionnaires of three junior middle schools in a county ofLaixi city, and interviewed many students, teachers, and parents in order to do a research ofthe state of self-management of junior middle school students in rural areas. By getting thefirst-hand materials and learning the real situations of self-management of junior middleschool students in rural areas, the author tried to find out the reasons of these phenomena. Atlast, through the research of the functions of the main factors which affect students’self-education, the author tries to give some advice on promoting the abilities of students’self-management.
