| Teaching management system as the important component of the digital campus whichdeveloped for decades has become the significant platform for educational administrationand teaching management. This system experienced several revisions and part of itsfunctions were adjusted to the need of teaching work continually. Because that the teachingsystem of Jilin University was composed of a huge discipline group and every discipline hadits own characteristics, so the teachers, students and management workers would havedifferent requests in their actual use of the system.This paper has six sections according to the research needs. The first section isIntroduction which is the generalization of full text. The introduction elaborates the researchbackground and significance. It makes a summary of both domestic and foreign relatedresearch status with literature survey. And it also elaborates the main research contents, ideasand methods.The second section is Outline of teaching management information system. This sectionmainly introduces the connotation of teaching management information system, the programand features of management system optimization, the theories and methods of managementsystem function optimization and the general operational requirements of the advancedteaching management system.The third section is Outline of teaching management system of Jilin University. Thissection mainly introduces the background of the development of Jilin University teachingmanagement system and other basic situation. It also introduces the functional framework ofevery subsystem.The forth section is Survey of operation status and analysis of Jilin University teachingmanagement system. This section mainly makes a questionnaire survey of the operationstatus of Jilin University teaching management system. The respondents include experts,teachers, students and management workers. Through the statistical analysis of the surveydata, it makes a summary of the problems in the operation of Jilin University teachingmanagement system.The fifth section is Design of Jilin University teaching management system functional optimization. Based on the problems in the Jilin University teaching management system,this section combining with the actual needs of users of the system and better effectivenessputs forward specific function optimization design for the three subsystems: managementclient, teacher client and student client.The sixth section is Conclusion.
