Analysis On The Using Situation Of Mobile Phones By University Students And Impact On Their Behavior

With the progression of society and development of science and technology, the ownership of mobile phone in China is continually increasing. Up to April,2011, the number of mobile phone owners in China reaches889million. According to the statistics on26th April,2011issued by China Government, calculated by the recent increasing rate, the number of mobile phone owners in China can reach900million in May, which would make China to be the first country with900million of mobile phone owners in the world. As a convenient and efficient communication tool, mobile phone has penetrated into all the fields in the modern life of Chinese people, and spread among the corners of university campus. It is common to find the university students receive and send messages and dial phones while walking on the campus. The use of mobile phone has become a kind of tendency and fashion, and is gradually changing the living and thinking style of university students. And also, the adverse impact on university students by use of mobile phones begins to emerge.The current research on the issues of the use of mobile phones on the behavior of university students are developed from the point of psychology. In the thesis, from the new view point of philosophy of science and technology, starting from the relationship between technology artifact and human behavior, it generally introduces the development history, current situation and functions of mobile phone, and explains the dual impacts of using mobile phone on university students’behavior. Using the statistics as data supporting, science and technology theories as foundation, it analyses to find out the reasons of adverse impact on university students by using mobile phones, and finally, through the point of technology, it correspondingly puts forward the strategy on how to deal with the adverse impact of using mobile students on university students, and it provides a new possible dimension for how to guide the university students to use mobile phones appropriately, deepens the research of philosophy of science and technology on the dialectical relationship between science and technology development and human beings, fills in the gap in the domestic research on the impact on university students’behavior by using mobile phones from the view point of philosophy of science and technology, which is of great theoretical importance.
