With the deepening of the new reform of college sports ideology, physical education teachers (PE teachers) in universities are faced with many new problems. PE teachers should not only engage in sports teaching, but also participate in sports training and sports scientific research, etc. PE teachers hold multiple teacher’s role, So how to play multiple roles? How to convert among multiple roles and prevent the conflict between different roles? The first problem is that teachers should have a clear positioning of their role. This article takes the college PE teachers’ role as the breakthrough point, through questionnaire and interview, analyzing the Beijing university PE teachers role identity.Here is the conclusion:(1) PE teachers generally believe that their role requirement is not clear, role expectation and pressure are high, pride degree are low. Beijing university PE teacher role self-identity is divided into "high identity group" and "general identity group ". There is different between concept and practical identification. Concept identification is higher than the practice one.(2) On the ranking of identity, it’s almost the same. The former three are "knowledge and sports skill teacher","student sports study guides","physical education teaching resources developer". Last three are "social sports server","student mental health mentee" and "competitive sports training participants".(3)On the concept of identity, its total indenty has no significant difference, but in the specific role, male PE teachers have higher identity for"mass sport communicators""instructors of students"sports study" than female teachers. identity for "Imparter of sports’knowledge and skill""Teaching resource developer" becomes higher with the increase of teaching experience. Teacher has high identity for "Researchers of physical education teaching" with11-15and16-20school age. About the "Mass sport communicators" and "Researchers of physical education teaching"role; Undergraduate and Specialized subject have higher identity than Dr. and A master’s degree.(4) On the identity of PE teacher role of practice, the identity degree of male PE teachers of "physical education teaching resources developer""competitive sports training participants" is higher than female; Identity of "student sports study guides" is less than female. Teaching experience in11~15and16~20years teachers have the highest identity of "sports teaching resources developer".0~5years teachers have the highest identity of "mass sports disseminator","student sports study guides" and "student mental health mentee". About the " participants of competitive sports training" and "Social sports of the serve " roles, different titles of Physical education teachers have different ideas. Senior title of professional have higher identity than other teachers.but the "mentor of students’ mental health", the assistant teacher have the highest identity.
