| Success always gravitates to those who are good at learning independently, especiallyin the society of the future. In view of the situation, the teaching principle has been putforward in the National New Curriculum Program that teachers should give full attentionto fostering students’ capacity of self-learning. This article, based on the research of theself-learning of the students from MING DE High School of Taicang City, discusses thestrategies of promoting students ability to study on their own in the chemistry requiredmodules teaching.The research of the theme adopts the procedure of combining the document analysisand practice research. With referring to the documents, the article includes the definition ofself-learning, the research of the topic both at home and abroad, theory basis related to thetopic, and the significance of the topic research. Through the analysis of the questionnaires,the article talks about the situation both of the students’ self-learning and of the teachers’instructing of the required content of chemistry. The teaching strategy and case study of thestudents’ self-learning are also included in this article. In the end, by means of interviewsand data analysis, it demonstrates the effectiveness of the teaching strategies on fosteringstudents’ capacity of self-learning in teaching the required content of chemistry. |
