Chinese and Korean, whose countries with different domestic historical experiences, are distinguished by their emotional, mental and behavioral patterns. But, at a first glance, these two countries might seem to share a common cultural and social structure. However, in this research of interpersonal relations in China and Korea, it argues that it is possible to do comparative study on basic notions used to represent interpersonal structures and social psychological attitudes which are playing important roles in both countries. Here is something to consider."Mianzi", the concept applied in Chinese cultural context is closely related to the concept used in Korea culture that can be called "Chemyeon". Similarly, there is a relationship to some degree between Chinese word "Renqing" and Korean word "Jung", as well as "Zijiren" versus "Woori". But the two countries who are neighbors, actually remain cultural barriers, which are leading to a strong influence on interpersonal relationship patterns that are rather different from each other."Guanxi" is an unique managerial principle in Chinese interaction pattern. It can also be confirmed that "Yeongo" is unique to Korean."Renqing" and "Mianzi" are considered as core factors in a Chinese "Guanxi" network. Meanwhile,"Woori" and "Jung" play a significant role in a Korean "Yeongo" network. This comparative analysis, collecting data by in-depth interviewing and other methods, is aimed at showing the distinction and the connection between the two concepts, and trying to explain why does it exist. All volunteers of the research now are living in Nanjing. Three of them are Chinese, and the others are Korean. |
