To study the effect of mountain climbing affecting college student’s physicalquality and psychological health,the trainer picked up40students from ShandongDrug and Food Vocational College at random,including20boys and20girls,wereexperimental subjects for this experiment. Before climbing the mountain,the trainerstated the aim and requirement of mountain climbing to the trainees and let them dosome preparing activities for15minutes,the whole climbing last2h. Exercise wasorganized for trainees2times a week during the12-week study. Physical test includedvital capacity,sit and reach,standing long jump and so on. The tested time werearranged in exercise intervention for0week、2weeks、4weeks、8weeks and12weeks totally of5times. Psychological quality test adopted SCL-90questionnaire of9factors,the tested time were arranged in exercise intervention for0week and12weeks.The results was handled by mathematical statistics,questionnaires,documentsand materials,logic analysis and so on.RESULTS: All40students completed the12-week mountaineering study andanswered the questionnaire completely. All results were analyzed.①Change ofcardiovascular fitness: After12-week mountaineering exercise, there were significantdifferences in boy and girl trainees’ vital capacity.(t=-3.12,P <0.01; t=-8.8,P <0.01) Change of physical fitness:After12-week mountaineering exercise, there weresignificant differences in boy and girl trainees’ standing long jump.(t=-4.63,P <0.01;t=-2.95,P <0.01) Change of psychological health: After12-week mountaineeringexercise, there were positive changes about each factor in the SCL-90for the trainees.There were significant differences about somatization, interpersonal sensitivity,depression, anxiety,hostility, phobic anxiety and psychoticism.CONCLUSION: Mountain climbing exercise plays an important role to strengthen thecollege student’s physical and psychological health.
