"Self management" is the social basic requirements of quality education and thelong-term development of students. At present, the rapid development of human societyentered the age of big data, division of labor in society requires people to maximize the abilityof self management, therefore, to break traditional management mode of education andstrengthen the cultivation of students’ ability of self management is an important and urgentfacing task for the basic education management and teaching. Wider dimension of middleschool students’ self management is imperative. So the research question of this study is toexplore the cultivation of practice--focuse on middle school students’ self managementability.This research defined self management of the students as "Be based on the nation andschool education goal, under the guidance of education, the students can give full play to theirsubjective initiative and consciously and actively self control, self coordinate their languageand actions, unlock their development potential. This is a practice process of regulation andimproving of the psychological activity. It’s also a practical activity that students access toform a good study habits, independent personality, other individual self realization andcomprehensive development through self study, self regulation, self education and selfmanagement.From the education and youth psychology perspective, this study focuses on the currentself-management status of the middle school and high school students in the Kaifa zone ofYantai City, mainly adopts methods of the literature research, questionnaire survey, case studyand observation.This research mainly includes the following contents:First, through the consult correlation data, performed the literature search, we sort outresearches of self management at home and abroad especially the current research situation ofthe cultivation of self management ability of middle school students and put forward ourstudy and explore the related concept of the self management of middle school students;Second, this study focuses on the current self-management status of the middle schooland high school students in the Kaifa zone of Yantai City, surveyed with the self managementquestionnaire developed by Zhang Guoli; analyzed with SPSS19.0from the four dimensions: behavior management, emotional management, cognitive management and time management.The analysis results are as below:1. The overall level of the middle and high school students’ self management is above themedium; The dimensions of behavior management and time management are lower than theoverall level of management.2. There are significant differences in the demographic variables.(1) Gender differences.Self management of boys was significantly lower than the girls;(2) The family addressdifferences. The level of self management of rural students were significantly lower than citystudents;(3) Differences in personality. Introversion students’ self management level is lower;(4) Difference of grade. The self management level of students in eighth and tenth grade islower than other grades;(5) Students with no hobbies and time of physical exercise and sleepless than6hours have the minimum level of self management;(6) The students never getclose attentions outside have the lowest level of self management;(7) The students with longhomework time, poor academic performance, and self assessment of heavy learning pressurehave the lowest level of self management.Third, this study analyzed reasons for the existence of significant differences indemographic variables of students’ self management combined with the survey data and theobservation interview.Fourth, this study put forward the corresponding countermeasures aiming at the reasonsof students’ self management from the education and youth psychology perspectives.Fifth, this study explored the practice of cultivation of the middle and high schoolstudents’ self management ability and attempted to put forward the "training cycle mode ofstudents’ ability of self management". The empirical research took students in class3of2013grade in No.1Middle School in Kaifa zone Yantai city as example to testify the "trainingcycle mode of students’ ability of time management" with the "training cycle mode ofstudents’ ability of self management".This study put forward exploratory suggestions of countermeasures about how tocultivate the students’ ability of self management, and provides reference for the managementof the school and family education; trying to explore the active and feasible mechanism ofcultivation of students’ self management ability through the "training cycle mode of students’ ability of self management" in order to promote the research process of high-quality talentwith strong ability of self management.
