Statistics and probability, a subject thatreflects random phenomenon in real life, plays a decisive role in mathematics teaching, and it also provides an important mode of thinking to know the objective world and a method to solve the practicalproblems. Today, statistics and probability knowledge has been throughout the primary mathematics teaching outline in every grade. Due to the limits of teaching conditions, the traditional lesson of probability and statistics are usually dominated by teacher, the methods and means of teaching is old and simple. Consequently, it is difficult to effectively organize and carry out individualized teaching activities, and the concept of the student-centered teachingcould not be fully implemented,which means that it is not conducive to the development and cultivation of students’ autonomous inquiry ability and innovationthinking.With the rapid development of information technology, the statistics and probability software provides a new way for the teaching of primary statistics and probability, and it is becoming an important driving force to promote the innovation of teaching statistics and probability.Based on the analysis of some existing statistical software, the advantages and disadvantagesof these softwares are summed up, and a teaching aided probability and statistics systemis proposed by combining with the actual needs of teaching and learning of primary statistics and probability.The demands of the system are firstly analyzed, some technologies used in the software developmentarebriefly introduced, and then the detailed implementation process and the design of the core functionsare given, including the classification and sortingmodule, statisticsmodule, generationmoduleof statistical graph, moduleof statistics and model of probability. Lastly, the main functions of the softwareexperimental are demonstrated by some specific cases.Theteaching aided probability and statistics system developed in this dissertationhas manyadvantages such as strong interactivity, user friendly interface, software functionsare closely associated with textbook, the function and operation mode conform to the cognitive characteristics of the students and so on, which laid a good foundation for its application in the teaching process of the statistics and probability in primary school.
