Some studies have shown that the mind of the students is not totally blank before they enter the classroom. Actually, some conceptions, whether right or wrong, integrated or divided, profound or superficial, have already existed in their mind through daily observations and practices or self-studies. Those conceptions formed before the real scientific conceptions are transmitted to the students are called preconceptions or prescientific conceptions. Currently, scientific education in every country has focused on emphasizing the importance of big conception, however, there is no way for us to avoid the effects from prescientific conceptions during the conception education. By analyzing the data from a survey, this study will indicate the recognition, management and diagnosis of the prescientific conceptions from Middle School biology teachers to reveal the issues existing in conception education. As the very basic part of the prescientific conception study, the development and improvement of prescientific conception diagnosis attracts the author’s attention. Taking studies from foreign countries as a reference, a new way for prescientific conception diagnosis combining the two-tier multiple choice instrument with the certainty of response index is introduced in this study. This new way for prescientific conception diagnosis will provide demonstrations and instructions for teachers and also open new avenues for traditional education.Through the data analysis of the questionnaire, the following conclusions:(1) the level of before scientific concepts metacognitive in the teachers is generally low. (2) the teacher don’t attaches great importance to student’s scientific concept and there is something wrong with handling. (3) teacher have a little or no training to the content of before scientific concepts. (4) teachers to diagnosis methods of the before scientific concepts don’t understand, use frequency is low.In addition, through analyzing the use effect of combining with based on two sections of the test and deterministic index analysis,come to a conclusion:(1) the diagnosis method is effective, able to reveal the problems of before scientific concepts in students’ mind. (2) the diagnosis method is still a bottleneck problem to be solved.According to the research results of this paper, it is recommended that teacher training departments to strengthen the training of content about before scientific concepts; The teacher itself should enhance the consciousness of about the scientific concepts; Education researchers can build the database of before scientific concepts.
