Reading is one of the most important courses in primary school language education. Reading will influence primary school students who are in the growth stage in many ways that mainly are the perfection of cultural quality, improvements in the way of thinking, and the formation of personality, hobbies and aesthetic standard. Therefore, researching primary school students’ reading course is indispensable.Through a survey in National Experimental Primary School in Hohhot, the thesis found practical problems, such as the declining reading ability and the growing insufficiency in vocabulary, concerning the students who take classes in Mongolian. The thesis also put forward unique ideas on how to solve these problems.The thesis is composed by three parts: Introduction, Main body, and Conclusion. The main body consists of two chapters.The introduction focuses on the basis of selected topic, former relevant studies, significance of the research, research method and the sources of the materials.The first chapter, taking the necessity of primary school students’ reading as an entry point, discusses the reading aim and the actual situation of reading at each stage of primary school. According to the rural survey in National Experimental Primary School in Hohhot, this chapter also shows a series of reading problems concerning students who take classes in Mongolian.The second chapter, aiming at problems such as the declining reading ability and the growing insufficiency in vocabulary, presents specific and feasible solutions, including renewing teaching concepts, improving learning environment, classroom reading, enriching extracurricular reading activities.The conclusion briefly discusses the major content and the main idea of the thesis.
