Daur nationality in the north of China is a minority with less population. The characteristic of the population distribution formed as “scattered in wide range and settlement in small range” through the long-term historical development. Therefore, the Daur people formed an unique living environment and way of life. Family is the smallest social unit to implement education in Daur nationality. The traditional education of Daur contains rich content and method which affect individual to be socialized. But under the condition of rapid development in modernization, Daur traditional family education is under strong impact of family education in such aspects as content, methods, ideas, environment is changing with more or less.This article embarks from the perspective of family education, take H village, M town of Hei Longjiang province as an individual case for field study to investigate different family education of Daur nationality in three eras. The three eras are from foundation of the country to the reform and opening up; from the reform and opening up to the year 2000; and after the year 2000. the paper shows the changes of family education from traditional society to modern society by investigating the three different years. The survey analysize the changes of education content, education idea, education mode and education function of family education in detail and then analyze the reason and influence factors of these changes can make family education do better in dealing with the mainstream culture, thus truly inherit the traditional cultural.Taking the Daur society as the research background, combined with the existing literature of Daur’s history, culture, education etc, this paper interview people in different eras from the same family of this ancient nationality to investigate the changes of Daur’s family education in all aspects since half a century ago. The article is divided into four parts. The first part narrates the origin, purpose, significance and scheme of this research, at the same time present an overview of the individual case of H village. The second part is in time sequence. Combined with the existing information and the information from H village, it gives a detail discussion of the three different periods of family education. Through the investigation, the changes of the family education is obviously not in a sudden, but in the slow pace of change and development. From the changes of family education, the third part suggests that it was the economic, family, school and population flow which influence the formation of Daur’s family education. The fourth part is the most important part to explore and the author focus of the problem: how to make the daur’s traditional culture and family education mutual promotion and mutual development better; How to achieve social education, school education, family education of good cooperate, make the daur’s family education actively cope with the social changes, at the same time, the mainstream culture and the daur traditional culture can live together in a good order.
