| Our higher education has undergone major transformation driven by the socialist market, however, whether the marketization of education, or for equity and quality of education are carrying a lot of controversy. The expansion of higher education offer more opportunity to students to go to college, and facing with this opportunity, most people appear mind are "school, teacher". In the whole educational process, school education has been the dominant position of education; people are ignoring the families influence on the students’ growth. In fact, the composition and structure of the ratio of the number of shares of family resources to create all possible opportunities in the pursuit of quality education for their children, the families only hope that their children can choice a good university and a nice specialty. Therefore, for college students, their college and their major are heavily influenced by family factors. The thesis takes the students of grade 2012 and grade 2013 in Yunnan province as investigators, by way of questionnaires and interviews to know students’ high school education and experience life on college or university, using the educational sociology theories to analyze what factors that affect students’ professional choice, and to know the satisfaction of the students about the professional choice.This thesis mainly carries on the elaboration from following several aspects:The first part, mainly elaborated this research question, literature review, significance, hypothesis, research methods and process.The second part, the author defined the concept of professional choice, professional, choose, family background, popular professional and unpopular professional.The third part is inventory survey about student’s professional choice. The description of the current situation of higher education in Yunnan Province, Statistics on the effective questionnaires have been recovered, which is the basic situation of the family background and professional choice of the students of grade 2012 and grade 2013 in Yunnan province. And interview 6-7 students with different family backgrounds from every specialty to know how the family resources influence their professional choice and their attitude about the specialty in order to found that family resources plays an important role in the process of education of the students.The fourth part, the author analyzed the overt and covert influence on students’ professional choice caused by the family economic capital, cultural capital and social capital. The economic situation of the family decided the education source and information on their children. The education level of the parents directly reflected in the attention to their children’s academic and education, and the way of incentive their children to learn; Parents work type directly reflects how many organization resources share the family owned, which is the important factor that effect the professional choice of the children.The fifth part, the author analyzed the influence from the society, University, family on student’s professional choices.According to Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of social practice, in a certain field with the respective has capital, guided by certain rituals, in order to improve their present the position of the domain, and the quantity and quality of capital by activities. Economic capital is the basis of social capital and cultural capital, households have different types of capital, and effective control in the process of education, they will have different value, but the more capital share family, passed through the generations between direct benefit from their children, and can be mutual transformation between the three. Students whose families are higher social status often can enjoy the family provides for its advantages, so that they have no trouble back at home, better use your talents. |
