The KMT-ruled areas are the area that were controlled by the Kuomintang during the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War. The education background of Chinese in those areas during the period of Anti-Japanese War constantly remains as a crucially important and meanwhile daunting task in the field of the History of Modern Chinese Teaching. However, most scholars focused more on the status situation in KMT-ruled areas during that time than on the meaning to current Chinese teaching. All in all, the research target of the History of Modern Chinese Teaching lies in looking back to the history, therefore to better our teaching practice.This paper analyses the whole situation about Chinese teaching in KMT-ruled area during Anti-Japanese War Period, and digs deeper into the Chinese teaching materials and teaching theories in that time. As a special social background of education form, Chinese textbooks show some distinctive features. Its primary school teaching materials at the request of the instantaneous and practical, adopting the mixed choreography way of common sense and Chinese. Besides, its middle school teaching materials present the features of prosperity and diversity, which is a unique complied way by combing teaching, learning and practicingto one.It’s also a groundbreaking teaching method--extrapolate composition teaching methods.Meanwhile, it adopts the way of classical Chinese and vernacular Chinese to compile two kinds of teaching materials.In the aspect of Chinese teaching theory, Chinese educators facingthe discussion of declining of the Chinese teaching hold different opinionsand on putforward some improvement measures. Therefore, it has furthered determine the different educational goals between classical Chinese and vernacular Chinese, andputforward the corresponding teaching strategies by combining different education targets with different parts of Chinese teaching.On the basis of the research, this paper summarizes the implication of Chinese education in the KMT-controlled area during the Anti-Japanese War. From the perspective of teaching material, it has distinguish different education stages, cooperation between common sense and Chinese learning, and the advantages of open learning, teaching material selection, Which are worthy of learning. From the perspective of educational theory, it attaches the importance to the traditional Chinese classic, uses a various methods for reading and writing, and divide teaching parts meticulously, which is worthy of learning in the current Chinese education. As to the current Chinese teaching, the author concludes the influence of Chinese teaching in KMT-ruled areas on current Chinese teaching along with the achievement of ontological research verified in practice, in order to preferably reveal some general laws in Chinese teaching, as well as to unearth the exclusive phenomenon and characteristics in Chinese teaching, which can be used in guiding the Chinese teaching, especially in reading and essay teaching.
