| It is emphasized by the new curriculum reform to enhance the scientific literacy of students from three aspects: knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion attitude and values. It is an effective way to improve students’ scientific literacy by infiltrating chemical history into chemical teaching. This requires teachers to permeate more of chemistry history education into chemical teaching. However, to achieve the goal of the new curriculum, it is not enough to rely solely on traditional teaching mode and method, advanced education concepts and technology methods are also needed. Multimedia technology is an important means of modern education, and integrating the multimedia technology into chemical history is an effective way to reform the present situation of chemical history teaching and education, that teaching method is too single and chemical history cannot be good fusion into the knowledge and principle of chemistry in secondary school. A dynamic historical process which includes the generation and development of chemical knowledge and principle can be reproduced in the form of animation using multimedia technology to make chemical history multimedia courseware. In the situation created by courseware, students can experience the scientific inquiry process, cultivate the scientific thinking and method, deeply dig and learn the basic chemical knowledge and principles behind the chemical history in order to enter the real field of chemical inquiry teaching, which makes "scientific inquiry" as learning activities, "problem solving" as the core to study, "creativity" training as the true purpose. What’s more, this way enables the scientific literacy of students to be comprehensively improved and also deeply reflects the requirements of the new curriculum. Although it is often seen that using multimedia technology to make chemistry teaching courseware, in terms of content, the concrete application of research and production of chemical history multimedia courseware is rarely reported in the literature. In this paper, based on the analysis and investigation of literature, "enrichment in seawater elements- chlorine" and "atomic structure" two chemical history multimedia courseware are made and their specific ideas and methods of the application are also explained by teaching design. The purpose of this research is to provide a new idea for the current secondary school teachers’ education and teaching.In this paper, by consulting relevant literature, questionnaire survey, statistical analysis and other methods, the existing problems and deficiencies of chemical history practical teaching and theory education in parts of Inner Mongolia are found and analyzed. Combined with the standard of chemistry course and the requirements of PEP(People’s Education Press) chemical textbook contents, the idea of developing secondary school chemical history multimedia courseware and putting it into practice are put forward. Using the theory of constructivism, Marshall Mcluhan media education thought and "historical line, inquiry line, knowledge line" three line teaching thought as a guide, "enrichment in seawater elements- chlorine" and "atomic structure" 2 sets of chemical history courseware are made by software such as Flash and PPT. At the same time, in order to explain the application concept and method of chemical history multimedia courseware in practical chemistry teaching, two teaching cases are designed in line with three line teaching thought : a tortuous history of scientific discoveries(historical line) as the main line to create teaching scenarios is desgined to stimulate students’ interest in learning; based on each section of the content of chemical history, using inspiration and guidance, exchanges and discussions to carry out inquiry activities(inquiry line); by these inquiry activities and problems the basic chemical knowledge and principles behind chemical history is dug out(knowledge line).According to the chemistry curriculum standard, the "atomic structure" and the "enrichment in seawater elements- chlorine" two chemical history multimedia courseware are both made, closely related to the of content of chemical history. In the repeating history situation created by Flash animation, students can experience the process of scientific inquiry, cultivate scientific thinking and methods of chemical knowledge and learning at the same time. It reflects a new explore way of teaching, which uses the chemical history of science and multimedia technology into the production of multimedia courseware to cultivate students ’scientific literacy. And it is of great significance for the smooth implementation of the new curriculum ideas, so it is with enhancing the scientific literacy of students, too. |
