Reading teaching plays a very important part in Chinese teaching. The goal of it is to help students learn to read, and the key is to cultivate good reading minds and reading habits. As we know, the Chinese reading teaching for seven-grade students is the beginning of the reading teaching in the middle school. As the saying goes, well begun is half done. So it is useful to do some researches on the seven-grade Chinese reading teaching.The article is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is about a survey on reading teaching in present situations by doing a research on seven-grade students’ reading levels. The writer finds out that there are some problems in reading teaching: 1. There must be a process of adapting between students’ learning motivations on learning Chinese and teachers’ reading teaching evaluations. 2. There are some gaps between students’ difficulties in reading and teachers’ important points on reading teaching. 3. There are some conflicts between students’ low efficiency in reading and teachers’ seeking for the high efficiency in class.In the second chapter, the writer discusses the basis on cultivating the seven-grade students’ Chinese reading minds and reading habits in Chinese teaching, so that teachers can develop strategies better. At first, the research compares the differences between the third and the fourth schooling stage reading aims in the new curriculum in order to find out the differences between the two school stages’ reading aims.Then, does some researches on the teaching materials of Grade Six and Grade Seven, especially analyses the arrangements of the teaching materials of Grade Seven, and find some basis from introductions’ settings and after-school exercises’ settings of the teaching materials. At last, chooses two videos of two special-class teachers—one is from the primary school and the other is from the middle school to find out the differences between the primary school and the middle school in the class teaching, which provides much more proper directions and ideas for carrying out the teaching strategies in the class.In the third chapter, it refers to the cultivating strategy on reading minds and reading habits. Cultivate two kinds of reading minds—— schema thing and divergent thinking ability; cultivate the reading habits on previewing texts, focusing attentions, reading emotionally, extracting good articles and so on. The teachers try to realize the teaching strategies on cultivating students’ reading minds and reading habits by using interactive multimedia system, refining the proper teaching languages, organizing different kinds of reading activities which construct good reading atmosphere for students’ reading minds and habits.The topic of the article provides a certain theoretical basis and realistic value. And the purpose is to arouse the attentions of the front line teachers for the seven-grade reading teaching. The results of the research will play some certain parts in Chinese reading teaching.
