The development of modern society depends on the development of human to a large degree, and the development of modern market-oriented economy calls for a good massive of "professionals", who is of professional mature skills and high professional dedication. To nurse the "professionals", good perfect vocational education system is necessary, and there’s no exception, Japan also included. Japan’s economy realized two giant leaps during the Meiji Restoration and the period of 1950s to 1970s and after that it had an important role in the world economy. These things actually had a close relationship with the creation of the modern vocational education system in domestic.After a long-term accumulation, now Japan has already became one of the most developed countries in the area of the vocational education. It starts from the Meiji Restoration. And it only takes 30 more years to turn an informal vocational education institution a formal part of the education system and something in legislation. And it is the 30 more years that Japanese vocational education grew rapidly from the laggard apprentice system to an improved mature educational system. It then supply many kinds of management force and skilled workers and thus makes great contribution to the modern economy of Japan and even the country and social development overall. A systematic research of the historical progress of vocational education and both its formation and related creation may provides supporting experience reference to the development and creation of the vocational education in our homeland.
