With primary schools and secondary schools entering the second stage of curriculum reform, how to carry out the mathematical concept of effective teaching is becoming the emphasis and difficulty in mathematics teaching. The author has analyzed the statistics of the final exam score of the sixth grade school in her school for nearly five year and found lacking the understanding of concept, the grasp of the concept and the practical using of the concept. Students attempts to cramming knowledge and the learning efficiency is low.On the other hand, in the context of constructivism, Dubinsky and others presented the teaching of mathematical concepts of APOS theory for mathematics learning characteristics in 1980 s. Many scholars in university applied the theory and achieved big success. In this paper, the author tries to explore the concept of mathematics teaching in junior middle school, by using APOS theory in order to solve the students’ problems like being easy to forget the concept, being distinctive with different concepts and the problem of learning unsystematically.In order to solve this problem, the author analyzes the psychological factors affecting students learning concepts starting from the level of perception, attention and other aspects. Then the author summarize and analyzes different types of mathematic concepts of the Grade Six. Under the guidance of APOS theory, the author constructs three mode of mathematic concept learning: to create a model, analogy mode and expansion mode. The author also analyzes and compare the differences between the four phases of the three modes. Finally, the author analyzes the collected data and found students all made a great progress on mathematics concepts learning, finding relationship between concepts and refining and using of mathematics methods which cultivate their ability of learning math and study math.
