With the development of knowledge economics, the improvement of the students’ innovative ability and cultivating the innovative talents became a main objective of the new curriculum reform. Simultaneously, this reformation also focused on the improvement of innovation consciousness of the students, and the viewpoint will run through each teaching stages of education in our country. The purpose of China Adolescents Science & Technology Innovation Competition (CASTIC) is to improve the teenagers’ innovation ability. With the times and innovate improved constantly, it will disply a significant influence to our country and even to internation. It is an important event which can either stimulate students interest in learning or improve the ability of experiments and innovation. In the recent years, the chemical education in CASTIC’s was concerned more and more attention to the research of cutting-edge of chemistry. However, with the limitation of the present knowledge level, chemistry teachers in high school can not provide a effective coaching to students to cultivate their innovative consciousness and explore the innovative experiment. Therefore, it is feasibility and necessary to take suitable strategies to improve the scientific research ability of chemistry teachers in high school.The combination theory with practice method was used in this paper.First, by analyzing the situation of the CASTIC and the winning works of students in the chemical experiment creative competition, we have concluded some suggestions to chemistry experiments teaching in high school; It was found that the CASTIC projects tended to focuses on the field of chemical cutting-edge research, but the scientific research ability of chemistry teachers in high school usually lack enough scientific ability was and can not provide effective coaching to students to do innovate experiments.The second, we also consulted related literature information to define the relevant concepts. With using the questionnaire survey, we provided a more comprehensive analysis about the deficiency causes of scientific research ability of chemistry teachers in high school, and proposed some strategies to it from the aspects of community, schools and themselves.The last, we furnished an example to study the preparation of biodiesel with waste oil, through compiling of data, designing of experiment, analysising the result and writing thesis to improve scientific research ability. The experimental conclusion was as follows:through the single factor in the laboratory research to obtain the optimum process conditions were the amount of catalyst was 2%o, the temperature and time of this reaction were 110℃ and 2 h, the acid value was about from 87.56 mgKOH/g down to 1 mgKOH/g; optimal transesterification process conditions were the amount of catalyst was 2%, the temperature and time of this reaction were 65 ℃ and 1 h, the conversion rate is relative high and can reach about 98%.In conclusion, the improvement of the scientific research ability of chemistry teacher in high school was certified to be benefit to expand and extend the basis experiments in high school. It was helpful for teachers to study the field of chemistry discipline frontier in-depth, while it also could arouse the learning interests of students in chemistry, and improve the students’ comprehensive ability effectively.
