The child period is from 3 to 6 years old, which is significant for growth and development of child. The main living environment or acting place is the family which’s environment and members greatly affect the growth of child. The psychologists point out that the manner of mother’s caring for and educating child is more important. As the first teacher of pre-school children, mother takes an important responsibility for early family education of child. The quality of mother’s caring for and educating child directly affects the family education and development of pre-school child and even indefinitely influences the healthy growth of teenagers. However, from the reality, it is known that the defects of mother’s role in infants’ caring and educating are seen and unfavorable to the growth and development of child as well as bring about series of hidden trouble for school-age education later. In recent years, scholars at home and abroad have made many valuable studies and found that the growth and development of child are impacted by many factors, especially the family caring and educating in which mother is the main actor. So the research on mother’s participation in caring for and educating child is theoretically and practically significant in studies on infants’ education.The research takes the parents of two hundred and fifty 3 to 6 years old children, Gao Yi county, Shi jiazhuang city as the study object which there are 130 boys, 120 girls, 50 parents of 3 to 4 years old children, 99 parents of 4 to 5 years old children and 101 parents of 5 to 6 years old children. The research adopts the questionnaire on participation in caring for and educating children as the survey tool, focus on the current situation of mother’s role in caring for and educating 3 to 6 years old children, the difference of mother’s participation in caring for and educating infants; the difference of mother’s participation in boy’s educating and girls; the difference of mother’s participation and father’s, finding out the existing defects and putting some relevant suggestion, which is favorable for the effectiveness of mother’s participating in caring for and educating infants.The study found that mothers do more for children in life care than in education and caring support and there are more education and caring supports than rule instruction; it is not obvious to see the difference between boy and girl for interactivity, accessibility and responsibility in mother’s participation in caring for and educating infants; 3 to 4 years old children’s mothers communicate more and do more leisure activities with children than 4 to 5 or 5 to 6 years old children’s mothers; it is obvious that mother’s participate more than father’s. For the above problems, the researchers put some suggestions as follows: first of all, mothers should pay attention to leisure activity, the profession development of being a mother and the plan of development when participating and caring for infants; secondly, mothers should focus on the difference between boy’s educating and caring and girl’s; thirdly, the different ages should be considered in mother’s participating in educating and caring; at last, help fathers make better to participate in educating and caring for infants.
