Tai Shuang-qiu (1896-1976), Yu Qing-tang (1897-1949) were famous educators in 20th century. They borned in the late 19th Century. Throughout their life, most of the time in a period of social upheaval of domestic and international economic and community. On half of the 20th century, the community of various thoughts surging, and had huge influence on them. Tai, Yu’s educational thought gradually formed in the course of practice, although the focus will be placed on the "people", but put forward a different theory of education:Tai proposed "minsheng education", Yu advocated "mass education." According to advocate their own ideas, carry out a large number of educational practice and experimental activities for China’s development has made contributions. This paper aims to compare the two educational thought and practice analysis, to explore the similarities and differences of the two reasons for the "people" as the center of education and ideas generated at the same time exposing the impact of the social environment on the growth and choice educator and the need to grow as educators should have the qualities.The main content of this paper is divided into four chapters discussed in each chapter highlights are as follows:The first chapter of combing through the relevant historical data, introduce TaiShuangqiu and Yu Qingtang both life and schooling time activities in three periods the pre-war, during the war, after the war. This will prepare for the next discussion.Chapter Ⅱ and Ⅲ are the focus points of this paper. From the ideological background of the formation of the second chapter, compare ideas and different points in the livelihood of people thinking of educational practice educational focus, practice effects, ideological aspects of the characteristics found differences between the two educational thoughts. The third chapter analyzes the two ideas manifested in social ideals, practice during the indomitable spirit and civilian population caring. And find out the common qualities on those Republican educators.The fourth chapter is the basis of the previous chapters to make a summary of the "minsheng education" and "mass education" to do the overall evaluation, summed up in two historic educational thought and practice, noting that the two ideological theories themselves existence of limitations and difficulties encountered in practice. We could make the more comprehensive and profound Understanding of the two theories.
