As a new form of online learning, MOOC is sweeping across educational system rapidly and globally. One of the most important factor determine the quality of online courses is the instructional design of MOOC. My dissertation addressed the question of how to improve the effectiveness of MOOC through instructional design.This research is carried out based on the research project in Open and Distance Education Engineering Research Center of shanghai Open University, and I worked out the part of content analysis, model design of MOOC, learning activities design of sample curriculum and evaluation of effectiveness of the curriculum. This dissertation comparative analysis the current popular courses of related MOOC platform from the perspective of content design. Different MOOC platforms there are some differences in curriculum and evaluation methods, and the different aspects of the content design have a certain impact on the course completion rate. Based on the current situation of content design of MOOC and research of learning activities. The writer define the core concepts, such as MOOC, learning activities, content design, learning outcomes and so on, and inspired by the design of online courses and textbook of distance education of The Open Universities, we further construct an instructional design model of MOOC oriented by learning activities, the model emphasizes the design of task unit based on learning objectives, each task units of learning through different forms of learning activities to achieve, and learning activities based on learning content and features of learners to the design and selection.Then according to the model of MOOC oriented by learning activities, we design a sample of MOOC. The sample of MOOC names Introduction and Production of MOOC, the writer design activities of sample curriculum, and according to the design of learning activities and video scripts, make and implement a curriculum. The sample MOOC released in the DIDI Classroom platform of shanghai Jingge technology company limited by shares. The learning period of sample MOOC is one week, after study we from the perspective of the learner curriculum design questionnaires, understand and verify a sample of curriculum design is reasonable and effective.
